Normandy and the Cotentin Peninsula

A place of history, culture and traditions, Normandy offers authenticity and natural beauty. A lush green countryside with forests, hedged farmland and meadows (bocages) together with majestic white cliffs, the Cotentin and Bessin marshes and last but not least the famous Bay of Mont Saint-Michel offer an incredibly diverse landscape.

However, Normandy and the Cotentin Peninsula also stand for a major historical event of the Second World War: Operation Overlord with the well known D-day landing zones with codenames: Sword Beach, Juno Beach, Gold Beach, Omaha Beach and Utah Beach.
