Guernsey

Peaceful, tranquil island in the Channel, well known for its capital Saint Peter Port and its beautiful coastline.

Castle Cornet is a large island castle and former tidal island, also known as Cornet Rock or Castle Rock. It was an important defensive outpost and protected not only the island, but also the roadsted. It became part of one of the breakwaters of Saint Peter Port's harbour in 1859.

Driving in Guernsey can be rather stressful as roads and lanes are quite narrow and busy. Cycling is probably the best way to get around Guernsey (if you don't have to carry around heavy photographic gear...). Fortunately for those who do have to carry such gear, the bus network covers all the island.
