The Jura is a wine growing region. The Jura wines are very distinctive and unusual wines such as the vin jaune, which is made in a similar way to sherry (it gets its character from being matured in a barrel under a flor of yeast).
Many lakes, waterfalls and vineyards can be found throughout the Jura and the landscape is wooded and rolling.
